Installing Mail Manager for licensed customers
Who is this article for?
IT Administrators and Licensed customers who want to make a custom Mail Manager installer.
This is a simplified help article with best practice for most scenario's
Refer to further reading for more complex installation types.
1. Create your custom licensed Mail Manager installer
To create your own custom installer:
- Download the Mail Manager pre installer file here: Per User Pre Installer.
- Run this pre installer file.
- Choose Multiuser then Self-service.
- Enter your Mail Manager License ID and password (obtainable from your Customer Success or Account Manager).
- Add your Shared Configuration Folder path to hard code it into the installer.
- If you don't have one, create it as explained here:
How to Setup a Shared Configuration Folder - If unsure of the path, ask your IT team or search your server/SharePoint for "Mail Manager".
Understanding the Shared Configuration Folder
- If you don't have one, create it as explained here:
- Click Next, then accept the terms and conditions.
- The pre-installer will create a customised Mail Manager installer with your license and folder path, saved to your desktop.
Note: your Shared Configuration Folder may be on a server or located in SharePoint folders, if the folder is in SharePoint just paste in the full web URL to the folder:
For example: https://contorso.sharepoint.com/sites/software/MailManagerConfig
2. Install Mail Manager
To perform a standard Mail Manager installation:
- Close Outlook.
- Run the Mail Manager installer.
- Click Next and accept the terms.
- Mail Manager will install using your pre-configured license and retrieve settings from your Shared Configuration Folder.
Once setup is complete, open Outlook and you should see Mail Manager in the ribbon:
