Minimum hardware and software requirements

IT Personnel performing an installation of Mail Manager.
IT knowledge & access required.
This article outlines the hardware and software requirements for Mail Manager. The requirements are defined for each hardware component that you will require.
1. PC requirements
1.1. Operating system
- Support Windows 10/11 (64-bit version only).
- Untested but should work: Windows 8.1 (64-bit version only).
- Untested but should work: Server versions of Microsoft Windows 2012 and above.
1.2. Hardware requirements
- x86 Processor Family (e.g. x86, x64, AMD64, Intel 64, and IA-32)
1.3. Hardware recommendations
- Intel Processor 2.5 gigahertz (GHz) or faster, minimum 2-core.
- Memory 8 GB RAM or greater.
- 1280 x 768 minimum screen resolution.
- Hard disk speed 7200 rpm or SSD.
1.4. Microsoft .NET framework requirements
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or newer.
2. Microsoft Outlook requirements
- Licensed Windows version of Microsoft 365 or Outlook 2019 (64 bit or 32 bit).
- Outlook to be configured to "Use Cached Exchange Mode" with Microsoft Exchange Online.
3. Email server requirements
- Microsoft Exchange Online.
- On-premise Microsoft Exchange Server 2016
4. Unsupported environments

Any device using a Snapdragon or ARM processor including but not limited to:
- Microsoft Surface Pro with ARM Processor (Including the latest Surface Pro 11th edition which uses a Snapdragon chip w/ ARM*)
- Outlook for Mac, even if installed using Parallels
- If a user also installs Mail Manager on a windows PC, using MM on a Mac on the web add-in or on the Mail Manager mobile app is possible after following the correct process.

Mail Manager for Windows Outlook add-in is not compatible with pre-installed installations of the "Office app for Windows".
- If this is the case, uninstall and then install or repair the commercially licensed version of Office before installing Mail Manager for Windows
- Shared Configuration Folders using personal OneDrive folders or online equivalent. Shared Configuration folders set using this method often cause issues with returning Collections and Locations due to connectivity to the location.
- Mail Manager is not supported running using IMAP or POP - a direct connection to MS365 is expected
Note: Testing is being performed by the Mail Manager team to look to address this environment so that it can be supported in the future.
