How to Setup a Shared Configuration Folder

A shared configuration folder is used to host the files that control user preferences and to load collections automatically.
This article outlines the steps required to create a shared configuration folder.
Creating a shared configuration folder on a network file server
- Install Ideagen Mail Manager. For more details on this process please visit Getting Started with the Ideagen Mail Manager Installation.
- Create a folder on your network called "Ideagen Mail Manager" and a sub-folder called "Ideagen Mail Manager Config".
For example:
UNC: \\Server01\General\Mail Manager\Mail Manager Config
Drive: G:\Mail Manager\Mail Manager Config
- Browse to the Ideagen Mail Manager installation sample directory e.g. %localappdata%\Mail Manager\Program Files\Sample.
- Copy the contents of the sample folder into the newly created "Ideagen Mail Manager Config" folder.
- Optional: Apply user access permissions to prevent non-admin users from editing the contents of the folder e.g. Read-Only
Creating a shared configuration folder on SharePoint
- Install Ideagen Mail Manager. For more details on this process please visit Getting Started with the Ideagen Mail Manager Installation.
- Within your SharePoint admin center create a new site (site collection) called: Ideagen Mail Manager.
- In a web browser open the Ideagen Mail Manager SharePoint site.
- In the "Documents" section create a folder called "Ideagen Mail Manager Config".
- Browse to the Ideagen Mail Manager installation sample directory e.g. %localappdata%\Mail Manager\Program Files\Sample.
- Copy the contents of the sample folder into the "Ideagen Mail Manager Config" folder.
- Optional: Apply user access permissions to the Ideagen Mail Manager SharePoint site to prevent non-admin users from editing the contents of the folder e.g. add to the site's visitors group (read)

Creating a shared configuration folder on Viewpoint
- Install Ideagen Mail Manager. For more details on this process please visit Getting Started with the Ideagen Mail Manager Installation.
- Within your Viewpoint enterprise create a new site called: "Mail Manger" with a document container called: "Ideagen Mail Manager Config".
For example: My Company / Ideagen Mail Manager / Ideagen Mail Manager Config.
- Browse to the installation sample directory e.g. %localappdata%\Mail Manager\Program Files\Sample.
- Copy the contents of the sample folder (see above) into the "Ideagen Mail Manager Config" document container.
- Optional: Apply user access permissions to the Ideagen Mail Manager site to prevent non-admin users from editing the contents of the folder e.g. add to the site's visitors group (read)
