How to Set User Preferences for Licencing
Who is this article for?Mail Manager Administrators making config changes to Mail Manager.
Access to edit User Preferences is required.
Important: Filing Preferences can be controlled by your Mail Manager administrator. As a result, some of these options may be disabled and only changeable by an administrator.
Mail Manager user preferences can control the behaviour of the tool and assist you in your filing process. User preferences are enabled via radio buttons and checkboxes which can be toggled on/off to suit your requirements.
This article includes details on how to configure the options relating to licencing Mail Manager, and is split into the following sections:

1. Release Key After Exiting Outlook
- When enabled the licence will be returned, via the Internet, to the Mail Manager licence pool each time Outlook is closed.
- If not enabled, the licence will remain on the machine, useful for laptop users who may need to work offline for up to 3 days at a time.
- If the internet connection is lost with the option enabled, Mail Manager will be disabled after a short period of time and the licence will become available in the pool for others to use. When an Internet connection has been re-established, restart Outlook to activate Mail Manager.
