Elevated access may be required.
This article shows you how to resolve the error of when the Mail Manager shared configuration folder is greyed out.
1. Issue
When setting up Mail Manager, the Shared Configuration Folder path applies to all installations and stores its settings.
If an admin locks, renames, deletes, or moves this folder, you may face a chicken-and-egg issue: you cannot update the path because the setting is locked based on the old, inaccessible folder location.
2. Solution
To resolve the issue, follow these steps:
- Open the Windows Registry Editor (regedit).
- Go to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Oasys\Mail Manager - Delete the Master Config Folder key and restart Outlook.
This will unlock the Shared Configuration Folder path in user preferences, allowing you to update it to the correct path.
