Troubleshooting Shared Configuration Folder access

SharePoint Admin access required to complete troubleshooting.
Mail Manager keeps all its global settings and preferences in a shared folder on your network or SharePoint, known as the Shared Configuration Folder.
This article covers a number of reasons why auto discovered SharePoint locations may not be appearing and how to address them.
1. Folder locations
There are two places your Shared Configuration Folder can be stored in - SharePoint and network.
SharePoint Shared Configuration Folder file path will look similar to:
- SharePoint:https://yourcompany.sharepoint.com/sites/Admin/Shared%20Documents/mail%20manager%20config
Network Shared Configuration Folder file path will look similar to:
- Z:\IT\Software\Mail Manager Config
- \\Server\Share\IT\Software\Mail Manager\
2. Issues
Common reasons for issues with Shared Configuration Folder access are:
- Someone deletes the folder.
- Someone renames the folder.
- Someone moves the folder to a new location.
Reverting any of these changes will restore Mail Manager functionality.
3. Troubleshooting
3.1. SharePoint
To troubleshoot access issues:
- Click Status.
- Go to the Session log.
Your Shared Configuration Folder path will be listed at the top.
- If your Shared Configuration Folder cannot be accessed, you will see an error (e.g. 404, 403, etc.).
- Click Tools.
- Select User Preferences.
- Next to Shared configuration folder, click Browse....
- If your Shared Configuration Folder exists, you will be taken to it in File Explorer.
Correctly configured folder should look like the below example.
3.2. Network folders
To troubleshoot access issues:
- Click Status.
- Go to the Session log.
Your Shared Configuration Folder path will be listed at the top.
- If your Shared Configuration Folder cannot be accessed, you will see a 404 error.
- Click Tools.
- Select User Preferences.
- Next to Shared configuration folder, click Copy.
- Paste the path into Windows File Explorer.
- If your Shared Configuration Folder exists, you will be taken to it.
