How to Set Local & Network Folders Preferences
Who is this article for?Mail Manager Administrators making config changes to Mail Manager.
Edit permissions to the Shared Configuration Folder is required.
Mail Manager includes an administrator tool to centrally update and control all user preferences across your organisation. These preferences are enabled via radio buttons and checkboxes which can be toggled on/off to suit your requirements.
The Refresh checkbox will ensure changes are applied to users machines through a forced refresh and Lock will prevent users changing a preference.

1. Local & Network Folders Configurations
Discover Filing Locations
- Requires configuration before this option can be enabled. Contact: support@mailmanager.com for more information.
- This option is only available for subscription licence users.
Apply file system 'Read only' attribute to filed items
- When selected, filed items that contain the 'Read only' attribute will allow multiple users to open the same message at the same time.
Default path type
- This applies when creating new locations for e.g. if a user adds a filing location by navigating to the path using a drive letter, you can ensure it will always be converted to a UNC path.
2. How to Set Preferences
- Open Outlook.
- Navigate to the Mail Manager ribbon.
- Click Tools, and then User Preferences.
- The User Preferences window will open.
- Click the options required.
