Using the Mail Manager filing assistant

The Mail Manager filing assistant automatically files emails based on your filing history and chosen confidence threshold.
1. Enabling the filing assistant
To enable the filing assistant, follow these steps:
- Go to Mail Manager.
- Select Tools.
- Choose User Preferences.
- Select Filing.
- Choose Filing assistant.
Choose whether to apply the assistant to your inbox or sent items, then select your best suggestion threshold.
Mail Manager will automatically file any email that matches a filing location based on your chosen threshold and previous filing history.
Note: The filing assistant requires at least one month of filing history to work effectively. For more information about how the suggestion engine works, see About the Ideagen Mail Manager suggestion engine when filing.
2. Reviewing filing assistant actions
To review automatic filing and suggestions, follow these steps:
- Go to Mail Manager.
- Select Status.
- Choose Filing assistant.
The filing assistant dashboard displays all automatic filing actions and suggestions found based on your threshold settings.
3. Managing confidential emails
Important: If you regularly file confidential emails, set the suggestion threshold to High to prevent the filing assistant from accidentally filing emails to public locations. You are responsible for proactively managing your automated filing, as everyone's situation and suggestions will differ.
