Admins who may come across this issue with users on New Outlook
This article shows you how to go back to using classic outlook with Mail Manager. You can only use Classic Outlook or New Outlook with Mail Manager desktop version, not both at the same time.
Important Note: This involves windows startup items, so restarting your computer may be necessary.
1. How to go back to Classic Outlook
- Go to your Mail Manager user preferences (now based in your windows system tray at the bottom right of your screen as shown below.
- Then go to Updates > Uncheck the box > Enable Windows Desktop support for New Outlook
- Then restart your computer.
Restarting Classic Outlook or just opening Classic Outlook may work, so you can also try this. - When classic Outlook opens your Mail Manager ribbon buttons should be live as shown below:
2. Troubleshooting
If the above sequence does not work, try the below troubleshooting steps:
- Restart Outlook one more time.
- If that fails, restart your computer one more time.
- Check your Mail Manager windows processes, you should have these 3 main processes running:
Mail Manager Desktop Windows Processes – Ideagen Mail Manager | Help | Ideagen Luminate - If those Mail Manager processes are running you can manually switch back using the process below:
- Close Outlook
- Go to this folder - %AppData%\Oasys\Mail Manager\
- Open the file EmailFiling.cfg with Notepad
- Change the below line to: Nowmode=0
Nowmode=0 is for Classic Outlook mode - Save the file
- Then open Outlook.
