Emails filed to a network location can remain as pending if:
Location path is set to drive letter, e.g. J:\
slow connection to the server
large amount of emails in network folder
Solution/ workaround
Workarounds
Ensure the drive is mapped
Change from network drive letter to a UNC path - Highlight one or more locations and then choose Edit Path drop down, on the Locations ribbon, and change to UNC (as highlighted below)
Ensure you have a good connection to the server - Browse to the folder via File Explorer and when successful, try filing again.4. Create sub folders: If there are a large amount of emails in the network folder create sub-folders to divide emails (e.g. into years) and new sub folder to file new emails into. Then create new locations or amend existing locations to point to new sub folders.
When you have a good network connection try filing again:
Cancel filing - Go to Status | Filing Activity and change the drop-down on the menu bar from 'Show:All' to 'Show:Error and Pending'
Select the email or Ctrl+click to select more than one email (or Shift click)
Click 'Cancel' from the menu bar
If the email didn't file then it will go back to the Inbox, or wherever it was requested to file from, with [Filing Cancelled] on the subject line
