Who is this article for?

Administrators who want to prevent changes to Collections.

Local Admin permissions are required.

While most Collections are designed to be a collaborative space, there may be situations where you need a Collection to remain unchanged.

This article explains how to make a network collection read-only for this purpose.

1. Changing Collection properties

To mark a Collection as read-only:

1. Open Tools.
2. Select Locations.
3. Right-click the Collection.
4. Select Explore containing folder.
5. Right-click the Collection file.
6. Click Properties.
7. Tick Read-only (next to Attributes)

8. Click Apply.
9. Click OK.

Your Collection should now have a padlock symbol to indicate that it is now read-only.
