1. Troubleshooting "The function cannot be performed because the message has been changed" error
Cached exchange mode is a pre-requisite for Mail Manager and can cause some functionality issues like the above if not enabled. To help resolve this error we need to enable cached exchange mode as shown below.
In Outlook:
- Click File, Account Settings.
- Select Account Settings.
- Click the Exchange or Microsoft 365, and then click Change.
- Ensure "Use Cached Exchange Mode to download email to an Outlook data file" is enabled.
- Next go into More Settings.
- Navigate to the Advanced tab and enabled "Use Cached Exchange Mode".
- Click Apply and then OK.
- Finally click on Next and ensure to restart Outlook for the changes to be applied.
