Using the auto discovery tester tool

Shared config access is required.
This article contains information about creating and testing the configuration files for discovering filing locations.
1. Accessing the auto discovery tester tool
- Navigate to the Mail Manager installation folder either:
C:\Program Files\Mail Manager\x64
or
%localappdata%\Mail Manager\Program Files\x64. - Then, run MailManager.Autodiscovery.exe.
- The Auto Discovery Tester tool will open:
2. Using the auto discovery tester tool
- Choose your auto discovery type, (for example SharePoint below).
- Then the testing window will open, then choose Load Setup File and point to your auto discovery pattern text file that you will be testing:
- Click "Discover Locations" to start the test.
- Errors in your Auto Discovery pattern will be listed, and the test won’t run.- Watch the Auto Discovery scan test run in real time.
- If successful, click Open Location, then Collections to view manual collection files stored in a temp folder.
3. Supported discovery types

SharePoint
- Requires approval of the Mail Manager Desktop (SharePoint) app
- Requires the creation of configurations patterns

- Requires approval of the Mail Manager Teams Discovery app

- Requires approval of the Mail Manager Desktop (SharePoint) app

- Requires the creation of configurations patterns

ProjectWise
- Requires the installation of the latest version of ProjectWise Explorer app
4. SharePoint
This feature offers 4 options:
- Auto Discovery – tests existing configuration patterns.
- Metadata Iteration – retrieves the document library ID of discovered locations.
- Auto Discovery v2 – in development.
- Setup Builder – UI to help create configuration patterns.
After locating results, access them by selecting Open Location, e.g. %Temp%\Mail Manager\AutoDiscovery\SharePoint.
Results include .mmcollection files and a Collections.txt generated from the Setup File patterns.
5. Teams
Used to check that the signed-in user is able to discover the named folder (Email Messages) in Teams Channels that they have access to.
After locating results, access them and logs by selecting Open Test Location, e.g.
%Temp%\Mail Manager\AutoDiscovery\Teams
Results include .mmcollection files and a Collections.txt generated by the Setup File patterns.
6. OneDrive
Used to check that the signed-in user is able to discover sub-folders of the named root folder called Emails in their OneDrive. The sub-folders are used as filing locations.
After discovering locations any results and logs can be found by selecting Open Test Location e.g.
%Temp%\Mail Manager\AutoDiscovery\OneDrive
Included in the results is a .mmcollection file of the users OneDrive filing locations.
7. File system
This feature has 2 options:
- Auto Discovery - for testing existing configuration patterns.
- Setup Builder - UI to assist in the creation of configurations patterns.
After discovering locations any results and logs can be found by selecting Open Test Location e.g.
%Temp%\Mail Manager\AutoDiscovery\FileSystem
Included in the results are .mmcollection files and a Collections.txt created by the pattern/s in the Setup File.
8. ProjectWise
Note: This is in Development.
Used to check that the signed-in user is able to discover folders called: "01 Emails" in projects hosted in ProjectWise Data sources that they have access to.
After discovering locations any results and logs can be found by selecting Open Location e.g.
