1. Exporting index
-
Identify a user that has a suitable index for exporting locations.
-
On the user's machine run the MailManager.IndexExporter.exe that can be found in the Mail Manager installation folder:
- C:\Program Files\Mail Manager\x64
- %localappdata%\Mail Manager\Program Files\x64.
- The following window will appear:
- Select the required locations to export.
- Select the Export To Lucene button and choose a local drive folder. A sub-folder called 2.6 will be created.
- When the export process is complete, zip up the folder called 2.6.
- Move the zipped file to suitable folder that can be accessed by the machine that needs to import the index.
2. Importing index
- Exit Outlook.
- Copy the zipped file created during the export process above to:
- %LocalAppdata%\28hands\Mail Manager\Index
- Delete the existing 2.6 folder.
- Unzip the file, this will create a new 2.6 folder.

- On opening the Mail Manager Search tool the new index will be used and updated on an ongoing basis.
